My paternal grandparents came to the US in the early 1900s and settled in Lynn. My grandfather got to see the the Sox win 4 World Series and suffer the heart break of losing 4 as well. I had a bar mitzvah, and I appreciate my heritage -- but I'm not an institutionally religious person. I don't go to temple except for major events. I think about the miracle of creation on occasion but I don't think much about scripture. I like to say I'm "American Secular." |
